Milan San Remo
O.k. spring arrived just 2 days ago and we got dumped with 4 - 5 inches of snow over the last 2 days. Great weather for bike riding... So instead of heading out for a 3 - 4 hour ride with the Loons, I ended up riding on the good 'ol trainer instead.
Today was also the day of Milan San Remo. I logged onto the Internet to catch live updates and then headed over to Cycling.tv to check out the coverage. I then got the bright idea of hooking my laptop up to my TV in my exercise room. So there I was, watching live coverage of Milan San Remo while riding my trainer and having snow falling down outside. I was able to live vicariously through the peloton in Italy cruising along the Mediterranean cost. It certainly made my 1:45 on the bike much easier as the time just flew by. Watching Cancellara steel away with 2KM to go was just awesome. I loved seeing the rest of the lead group just staring at each other on who was going to go. It always amazes me that the everyone at the front always looks around for the guy who has the guts to go for it. Yeah, those that go don't always win, but today they did! What a great race.
Hopefully next week, the weather is much better.
